The Greek Assembly Sessions (GAS) Overview: The Greek Assembly Sessions (GAS) are mandatory sessions tailored for students interested in joining a fraternity, sorority, or FSL-affiliated organization at Florida A&M University (FAMU). These sessions, in collaboration with various campus entities, cover crucial topics such as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention, Hazing Laws, Campus Safety, Volunteering, and Intake procedures. Purpose: GAS aims to provide essential education and information about fraternity and sorority life, including its values, expectations, and responsibilities.
Successful completion of a GAS session is a prerequisite for eligibility for membership intake. Format: GAS sessions are conducted in person only. Students are required to attend one session before participating in official membership activities.

It's important to note that no virtual sessions will be offered. Registration: Students must register for their preferred session via the iStrike "News" page by searching for "Greek Assembly Sessions - Spring 2025". A registration fee is required to reserve a seat.
This fee contributes to the growth and funding of FSL programs, conferences, and workshops aimed at enhancing the Greek community's service to FAMU and Tallahassee. The setting is limited per session. Attendance: Attendance at a GAS session is mandatory for each intake period.
Students must register and attend at least one session, as attendance does not carry over to subsequent intake periods. Failure to attend a session will result in forfeiture of eligibility, regardless of meeting other requirements. Upon completion of a GAS session, students' names will be recorded in the Fraternity and Sorority Life database, signifying fulfillment of this requirement.
